Portraits Part II: Assembly

First, we had to determine the most appropriate, relevant and – dare we say – creepy manner of eroding the sepia portrait prints. It took multiple tries, and more than a few x-acto blades.

Now that Creep has successfully opened in Denver, we’re back in Chicago with our memories and a large pile of salvaged picture frames we didn’t end up using. As you can see, once you start buying old picture frames, it’s pretty hard to stop. Perhaps we can start a tidy little side business in vintage frames? Check back soon for pictures from the opening.

Creep Opens This Friday at Abecedarian Gallery

A representative sample of the prints Slow Industries will be exhibiting as part of their solo show Creep at Denver’s Abecedarian Gallery. If you are in the Denver area, stop by and say hello! The opening reception happens Friday, April 15th, just in time to celebrate finishing your taxes.

Portraits Part I: Printing

These two pieces will eventually be multi-layered, eroded formal portraits. In this post, you can see all the layers being printed – directly above, the first and second color passes for the top layer.
